Getting Sick In The Summer I hate getting sick, like most people. But in the summer, it really does stink. In fact, I've been sick this past weekend and because my head is sloshing around about 3 gallons of nose juice, I just couldn't get it together enough to write some witty post about art. Do-Overs I'm a firm believer in do-overs; be it mistakes at my job, mistakes in my relationships, and even mistakes with my Heaven Father.   Well, this blog is a case in point. This is my 3rd or 4th attempt to put something together that's short, simple, focused, and fun, and not too preachy or teachy. Just thoughts, images and comments about the art I make! New Covenant Series This is a new series that I felt moved to begin sharing. It's called, New Covenant Series. The New Covenant is all about the promises that are provided by the finished work of Jesus Christ. It's all about getting back to the true and simple Gospel of Grace. In this series, it is my hope to share Biblical Scripture that I feel compelled to express and to visualize with photo-based images that I've created, that just seem to match. Along with some minor commentary, I will include some of the photo information, as well as which version of the Bible I am quoting from.  The above verse is from Young's Literal Translation. The photo is of, Fire island Lighthouse, NY, ca. 1977.      

The easiest thing in the world is to say, "you can do this," or "I can do that!" One of the hardest things is to get started doing whatever we say we can do. Still, the hardest of all? Following through and continuing to do things days, months and even years after.  I hope I can do a little better then I have been with this blog. I think the key here is simply the "KISS" ... keeping it simple silly! On a windy, cloudy, Sunday morning (2.19.2012) on my way to work, I spotted this serendipitous arraignment of birds parked at the New Smyrna Beach Airport. These two blimps are parked here as part of the hoopla associated with the Daytona 500 NASCAR Race coming this Sunday. Actually, last years race I spotted 6 of the blimps circling the racetrack, but not two parked side by side like this.

In 1978, my friend and brother-in-law, Kenny, and my long gone ex-girlfriend, chipped in and bought me a 35mm camera. It was a Miranda, I think a Sensorex. Anyway, I eventually destroyed that poor camera, not once, but twice! More about that another time... These two photos are of the famed Montauk Manor, out on the eastern tip of Long Island, N.Y. I took my soon to be ex-girl friend who bought me this great camera that I would destroy twice, out to see this place that I worked at to show her how magnificent it was. A little about the Montauk Manor.  Apparently, this place had quite the history. You can look it up on several sites on the net. But... Way back in the early 70's, the place was empty. It had gone through some major renovations, and it was finished in many areas, but was still unused. My dad, Ed Sr., was out of work (construction worker-crane operator) and so to make some money for a family of 9, he got a truck, some oxy-acetelene cutting torch equipment, and ...
